Opinion:
Genny G (Apparel Music, Monique Speciale) teams up with Roy Gilles, one of my favorites when it comes to deep house, to bring the next Back and Forth EP. And if the last one had only 1 track (but a very good one, check Domy`s Don`t Even Know Me here), this has no more no less than 5.
I gotta say that after listening to this I was blown away by the percussion used. It sounds as coming from an old school drum machine, amplifying the overall feel of deep-house. And wait till you get to hear the synths and keys. Add some faded repeated vocals, and you got yourself the recipe for some great tracks, reminding of the golden age of music, where vinyl and analog were the main words used. Overall, the Italian duo use quite a strong beat and bass-line, so nobody will daydream while listening to this, so do not expect the light side of deep-house, but a more rough and dark one, perfect for a dark club room.
